science development is not a kuhnian paradigm. that is the narrative fallacy of science.

we do not do science as if it were a series of logical steps

→ trends are which storyteller’s story is most entirely or amenable to our tribe. reading the classics is great but you get the best djinn if you take trends in chemistry as a part of the social aspect of science.

the development of photochemistry was not as a result of three people — it was the social acceptance of those three people.
