AntiFragile

– Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Before

This is one of the books that has stuck with me – both consciously and subconsciously. My first and only reading was at least 8 years ago. Which speaks to the power of this book. It helped throughout my Masters, PhD, and Postdoc. The book is very well written and it follows a very logical flow to build up the theory and ideas. At least from what I remember. It is a book that gave me a lot of strength and understanding of why Science looked so innovative in the past and less so now, the power of narrative bias, and the power of having the wheat separated from the chaff by time.

My understanding has been refresed a little after reading Black Swan as some of his ideas are covered in both books. I would recommend Antifragile over BS.

These are my historical impressions. I will reread the book and write a review of it in due course.
